Congratulations to Lt. Ed Mattson for 18 years of dedicated service as a part time dispatcher. Ed also had 21 years of full time service, giving him a total of 39 years of service to Fire Mutual Aid.

Survivair Cougar 4500 PSI SCBA Air Packs - For Sale The Winchester, CT Volunteer Fire Company is selling eight (8) Survivair Cougar 4500 PSI SCBA air packs with various size masks & 8 spare bottles. These packs are NFPA 2002 compliant MFG 2006 and have all been regularly serviced and flow tested within the past year. Units come with HUD mask and (RIT) connections. There are 16 - 30 Minute carbon fiber bottles which are just 10 years old and recently hydro tested. These packs were taken out of service this week due to purchase of new SCBA units and are all lightly used.

We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit and looking for a reasonable offer on the entire package including spare parts. We have service records available. Offering these on a first come basis as a lot. WALPOLE FIRE DEPARTMENT'S CAPTAIN HURLBURT PASSES AWAY

The Walpole Fire & Ems Department announce the passing of George "Herb" Hurlburt,a 47 year member of the department after a Battle with ALS. Herb joined Walpole Fire in 1969,working his way through the ranks to Chief Officer,Fire Commissioner and decorated member. He proudly served on the Board of Directors at South Western NH Fire Mutual Aid and was an instrumental part in incorporation of EMS into the Walpole Fire Department.Calling hours will be held Friday,November 11th from 1700-2000hrs at Fenton & Hennessey Funeral Home,55 Westminster St. in Bellows Falls. A casual celebration of Herb's life will be held on Saturday November 12th at 1400hrs at the Walpole Fire Station, 287 Main ST. Walpole.

RETIRED BRATTLEBORO FIRE CHIEF T. HOWARD MATTISON PASSES AWAY

The Brattleboro Fire Department is announcing the sad news of the passing of T. Howard Mattison, former Fire Chief for the Town of Brattleboro. Chief Mattison, the former Road Foreman and Fire Chief in Bennington, VT, was hired as the Fire Chief in Brattleboro in March of 1959 by then Town Manager George Miller. Chief Mattison brought new life and enthusiasm into the Brattleboro Fire Department, making it one of the finest in the state. He was known for his “no nonsense approach” and his command presence at an emergency was 2nd to none. Chief Mattison retired on March 31, 1989 after 30 years of dedicated service to the Town of Brattleboro. RIP Chief Mattison, you will be missed.

Arrangements have been completed for services for Chief Mattison;

· Calling hours will be Friday evening at Atamaniuk Funeral Home, 40 Terrace Street, Brattleboro from 1700-1900. · Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 at the First Universalist Church of West Chesterfield, 10 Main Street, West Chesterfield. Burial is immediately following at the cemetery on Poor Rd, just up the street from the church.
