FIRE OFFICER LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

Cold River Area Fire Chief's Association will be hosting a FETC - Fire Officer Leadership Academy Seminar on January 31 and February 1st, 2015. This will be a 16 hour seminar designed to enhance current and future fire service officers. Topics covered will be: Personality Based Effective Communications, Bridging the Fire Service Generational Gap, The Art of Dealing with Negativity, Thermal Insult Recognition, Interior Benchmarking, Mayday Management for Incident Command. Seats are limited. Cost is $100 for both days. DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT

The Marlow Fire Department regrets to announce the passing of Donald Blanchard, retired Assistant Chief. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 10th at 1100 hours at the Methodist Church, Church Street, Marlow, NH. Burial will be in the spring. Personnel are requested to meet at the Marlow Fire Station on January 10th at 1000 hours in uniform. Don was a member of the Keene Fire Steamer Company from 1969 to 1974 when he joined Marlow Fire and Ambulance. He soon became Assistant Chief and held that position until his retirement in 2002. He was also a Deputy Forest Fire Warden.
