Memorial Service for the Star Hotel Fire
Bellows Falls, Thursday, December 29, 2011
A brief memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 18:00 at the former site of the Star Hotel in the Square in Bellows Falls. The memorial service will be held on the 30th anniversary of the tragic fire that resulted in the deaths of Terry Brown and Dana Fuller two Bellows Falls Firefighters.
These two Bellows Falls Firefighters were killed in the line of duty fighting this horrific fire on December 29, 1981. The brief memorial service will take place were the old hotel once stood in the Village Square in the area of the flag pole and two granite benches that were placed there to commemorate these two firefighters that gave their lives during this tragic event.
We feel it is very important that the community remember that these heroes gave their lives providing this vital service and protecting their community. Our intent is to remember this event and pay tribute to these fallen firefighters. If you have questions you can contact the Bellows Falls Fire Department at 802-463-4343.
