There will be a short ceremony this Sunday in Bellows Falls to remember the events of September 11. It will be held at the Hetty Green Park on School St. at 11:00 am. All area Fire Departments are invited to attend. Dress uniforms should be worn.
Ten Year Observance of 9/11
Keene NH sends rescue team to Northern Vt.
On August 28th during tropical storm Irene, Keene NH FD sent a team of 9 men and Rescue 1, Car 2 and the boat to Northern Vt to assist with rescuing trapped people in high water. The team assisted the Colchester Vt team rescue 15-20 people from a mobile home park in Berlin and then went on to Braintree where they could not get to people trapped on upper floors of a building. The people had to wait for the water levels to go down to get out. Picture taken while staged at the Montpelier Station.
