WEST DOVER IS HOSTING A SCOTT SCBA REPAIR CLASS.
The West Dover Fire Department will be sponsoring a Scott repair class at their Firehouse the instructors are Ed Johnson and Sam Howard from Fire Tech. They will be doing a SCBA repair and maintenance class for those who do monthly checks on SCOTT SCBAs, participants will be able to replace some parts and repair many minor issuesClass will run November 7, 2009 from 08:30 to 1500, lunch will be provided- cost is
$25 per person-

MEADOWOOD FIRE DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES THE RETIREMENT OF LT. Leo Hurme
Leo Hurme, Lieutenant of the Rescue Division at MCAFD retired August 31, 2009. Lt Hurme served MCAFD for 20 years as a firefighter, instructor, and a Lieutenant.Leo served 65 years in the fire service. 30 years in the EMS, 45 years in Princeton, Ma , 18 years as chief. He served 5 years in Lancaster, Ma after retiring as chief of Princeton, Ma. When asked what was the latest invention when he started FF. He related the fog nozzle concept of the Rockwood nozzle. Meadowood wishes Leo a very happy retirement.
