FUNERAL ANNOUNCEMENT

Newbrook Fire and Rescue regrets to announce the passing of Honorary Life Member Robert Culver. Bob was the last surviving founding member of Newbrook Fire and Rescue, attending his last meeting just a week ago. Bob was chief of the Alplaus N.Y. Fire Department from 1968 – 1978 with 50 years of active service there. He was Deputy County Coordinator for Schenectady County NY from 1976 – 1999 and was instrumental in getting the 911 system operating for Schenectady County.Funeral Services will be held at the Newfane Congregational Church in Newfane Vt. at 12:30 pm on Sunday January 17, 2016. Friends and family are invited to gather at the Newbrook fire station following the service. Personnel planning on attending the service can meet in dress uniform at the Newbrook fire station at 11:45 hours.

FIRE MUTUAL AID TRAINING

SOUTHWESTERN NH DISTRICT FIRE MUTUAL AID WILL BE CONDUCTING A TRAINING SESSION ABOUT FIRE MUTUAL AID AND PROPER RADIO PROCEDURES AT THE SURRY FIRE STATION ON MONDAY NIGHT JANUARY 25TH AT 1900 HOURS.ALL AREA DEPARTMENTS ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND.

17 years ago today on 1/9/99, 2 people died as a result of a fire on Grove St. in North Swanzey. ON THIS DATE IN HISTORY: 2 fatal fires occurred in Wilmington Vt. 1 in 1982 off Dix Rd (Wimmelman Development) and 1 in 1988 on Atherton Rd.

The unit is a Ford-F350 4 wheel drive and features a full rear slide out tray that has storage area for gear, equipment. The rear of Car 3 has a roll out command unit with 3 radios and work station. The unit replaces a 2006 Suburban. The choice to go to this set up was driven on safety and space to carry equipment.
