VERMONT FIRE SERVICE TRAINING NEEDS YOUR HELP
Your help is needed to create anEntry-Level Exterior Firefighter Training Course for the Vermont Fire Academy
During the past six months, Vermont Fire Academy Staff have traveled throughout the state attending meetings with county and regional fire associations as well as organizations representing all segments of the Vermont Fire Service. The most talked about item was that the Fire Academy does not currently offer entry-level firefighter training in a format that is less than 184 hours long.
To better address the question about how to provide a shorter entry-level firefighter course, we are asking for more input from the Vermont Fire Service. The Fire Academy will be holding five meetings throughout the state to focus on this one topic. We would like to present a few options and ask for your opinion about the options. Please join us at one of the following locations and help shape the future of an Entry-Level Exterior Firefighter Course.
The meeting locations are: Tuesday April 25, 2017 at the Newport City Fire Station at 18:30 Wednesday May 3, 2017 at the Vermont Fire Academy at 18:30 Thursday May 4, 2017 at the Division of Fire Safety Berlin Office at 18:30 Wednesday May 10, 2017 at the Swanton Fire Station at 18:30 Thursday May 25, 2017 at the Bellows Falls Fire Station at 18:30
