RETIRED BRATTLEBORO FIRE CHIEF T. HOWARD MATTISON PASSES AWAY

The Brattleboro Fire Department is announcing the sad news of the passing of T. Howard Mattison, former Fire Chief for the Town of Brattleboro.
Chief Mattison, the former Road Foreman and Fire Chief in Bennington, VT, was hired as the Fire Chief in Brattleboro in March of 1959 by then Town Manager George Miller. Chief Mattison brought new life and enthusiasm into the Brattleboro Fire Department, making it one of the finest in the state. He was known for his “no nonsense approach” and his command presence at an emergency was 2nd to none.
Chief Mattison retired on March 31, 1989 after 30 years of dedicated service to the Town of Brattleboro.
RIP Chief Mattison, you will be missed.

Arrangements have been completed for services for Chief Mattison;

· Calling hours will be Friday evening at Atamaniuk Funeral Home, 40 Terrace Street, Brattleboro from 1700-1900.
· Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 at the First Universalist Church of West Chesterfield, 10 Main Street, West Chesterfield. Burial is immediately following at the cemetery on Poor Rd, just up the street from the church.
