To: Southwest New Hampshire District Fire Mutual Aid System Personell....
I just discovered your web-site and wish to compiement all people related to the System. You have grown so very much and so highly organized!
It was during the 1950's when I was District Manager with General Electric Company, it was Bob Callahan who I shared many days and nights with in conveying to all the surrounding Towns people, the benefits of establishing a Mutual Aid System. We finally did get on the air, the date escapes me but I remember on the night we put the Base Station on the air on top of Mt. Packmonadnock, it began snowing as we left the hut. We barely made to the base as it began snowing visciously. Fortuanately, the transmitter did not require any service until the Summer. I have many fond memories of everybody at the beginnings and will also share some information put away in boxes.
It is so wonderful to see the professiomalism of your organization Regretfully, I am retired in North Las Vegas, NV otherwise I could enjoy a visit with you folks.
In case you are guessing, yes, I am 93 yrs. old!
Regards,
Ray Minichiello
