Presentation-Strategic Considerations for Managing the Mayday

William Greenwood of FETC Services will shed some dramatic light on the complexity of “Managing a Mayday”
with real audio and video footage. We will review the leading causes of the Mayday, realistic RIT capabilities with
a strong focus on Fireground and Command Radio Discipline.

Bio:

16 years experience in various volunteer, paid-call, and career fire department’s throughout NH. Currently the Assistant
Fire Chief with the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport Fire Department and a Lieutenant with the City of Keene. He is
also a Staff Instructor for the NH Fire Academy and a Director for the Fire Instructors and Officers Association of NH.

MVA on I-91 in Guilford Vt March 24 at 1338 hours. There was no injury.

Spofford Fire/Rescue,Keene 19A1, 19A2, 19A3, 19 Rescue 1, with Chesterfield Fire/Rescue. Small Red Honda Sedan (Westbound) Route 9 impacted with an (Eastbound) Toyota Landcruiser head-on in front of Powers Generator / Spofford Canoe and Kayaks on Route 9 Spofford, NH.

Keene Fire extricated the driver of the red Honda and transported 2 trauma victims to TCMC-ER.

Gilsum Fire-Rescue with Keene A1, A2, Rescue 1, Car-3.

Early this morning we discovered the theft of the following items
from our firehouse:

Trauma jump bag - red nylon w/ first aid supplies, etc
Oxygen jump bag - red nylon w/ cylinder, demand valve, BVM,
oximeter, etc.
Drug bag - red insulated bag w/ caths, narcan, thiamine, epi,
atropine, etc, NO NARCOTICS.
Two spare oxygen tanks

Four brand new (in box) Scott 75 Air Paks
Four brand new (in box) Scott spare bottles.

A Motorola CP150 UHF portable radio and charger

NH State Police is handling the investigation.

Symposium and Firehouse CAD Introduction

Southwestern New Hampshire District Fire Mutual Aid will hold a meeting on Monday, March 3 at 1900 at the Keene Fire Station to introduce the new CAD system, that is being installed in the dispatch center, to the end users. This informative meeting should be attended by a representative of every department in our mutual aid system. The meeting is intended to introduce the Firehouse software that the dispatch center will be using as it’s CAD and to provide information about how this new program will provide all departments with incident information on a web based access. There will also be information about additional costs associated with the annual maintenance of the Firehouse program. Please make every effort to have someone from your department attend.
